‘Twas cold that year, the Thames did freeze and many happy citizens of Olde London Towne played on the river as it were a glass; a horse could not pass any of the city’s lanes and everything that therein was, crept along as a common slug….
Well, it felt like that, as London and its transport failed to work on February 2nd. Nice day off, you might think…. Go and play snowballs in the park and build a snowman or two…. Wonderful; unless that is, you have the first of your important shows in Offenbach’s Les Bouffes Parisiens Theatre in Paris, with many guests it would be such a shame to let down.

A Time of Contrasts - from Mike

The last six months have been great. We’ve met a lot of friends, old and new, in all kinds of places in Europe, in North America - and in between … March was for us a month of extreme contrasts. The beginning found us freezing in Quebec City, where we were, nevertheless, given the warmest of welcomes by the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, who had invited us to join them for two special concerts.
